Michael’s TestimonyHello, my name is Jongnam Yoo, or otherwise known as Michael Yoo. I was born in South Korea in 1976 and raised in a non-religious home. I only went to church maybe three times in my whole childhood. I never heard the Gospel growing up. However, by God’s grace, during my college years in 1997, I met an American missionary, Bill Stewart, in Korea. He presented the Gospel to me, and for the first time I realized that Jesus is the only Savior. I confessed my sin, believed in Christ and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. In the country of South Korea, every adult male must serve in the Korean military for at least two years. However, I volunteered to serve for 6 years as an officer in the army and completed my duty as a captain. It was during this time that God gave me the opportunity to work with another American missionary, Leo Dutton, as a church interpreter. I learned many things from God’s Word there as I began to grow in Christ. Upon completing my military service, I moved back to my hometown and was privileged to work as a church interpreter under the ministry of American missionary David Lewis. God taught me many more things at that place and there, in 2005, God called me to the ministry and I surrendered my life to preach His Gospel. In 2006, I came to America and was trained at Crown College of the Bible, graduating with a Master of Ministry degree in 2010. It was while I was at Bible college that God blessed me in a tremendous way and sent me a life helper, Freda Johnson, my beautiful “Southern Belle.” Before we ever met, God had already given my wife a burden for Korea and allowed her to have a short-term missionary experience teaching English in Korea.
Freda’s TestimonyHello, my name is Freda Yoo. I was born in Alabama and raised in a Christian home. I grew up under the ministry of Dr. Michael Allison at Madison Baptist Church. I received the Lord as my personal Savior in 1997. Not long after, I surrendered my life to do whatever God wanted me to do. From the time I was young, God gave me a heart for international people. He gave me the opportunity to go to my home church’s Bible college as well as Crown College to receive training in education. At Crown, God gave me a burden for Korean people and upon graduation I was privileged to have a short-term experience teaching English and Bible in Korea. I met Michael after I returned to America and we were married soon after. I am thrilled to go back to Korea to serve with my husband and reach the Korean people I have come to so dearly love. The Lord has also blessed us with two precious daughters, Alivia and Eleanor. Alivia is 2 years old and Eleanor is 1 year old. We thank God for them and are excited to share this deputation and ministry journey with them. Birthdays: Michael 6/8 Freda 12/9 Alivia 12/11 Eleanor 5/7 Anniversary 6/21
